A quick guide. The full policy below explains the details.

1.Who we are & this agreement

SheetMusicConverter is operated by MTTENTERPRISE INC., a Canadian company based in Ottawa, Ontario (“we”, “us”). These Terms apply to our website, conversion service, previews, downloads, and subscriptions. By using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not upload files, create an account, or make a purchase.

You must be at least 13 to use the service. If you have not reached the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must authorize and supervise your use and be responsible for purchases. If you act for an organization, you must have authority to bind it. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

2.Conversions & free previews

We recognize printed, standard Western music notation from PDF, JPG, and PNG uploads and generate editable notation, synthesized audio, and newly typeset scores. The current limit is 20 MB and 10 source pages per upload. Handwritten notation and tablature are not supported. Audio transcription separately accepts WAV, MP3, FLAC, M4A, and OGG recordings up to 3 minutes and 20 MB. It is intended for a single pitched instrument and estimates notation from sound; it does not recover an original score or guarantee accurate full-band transcription.

You can review the available score and audio preview before unlocking downloads. A preview may be limited to part of a score. Automated recognition can misread pitches, rhythm, text, and layout. Human proofreading is not included, and we do not guarantee a perfect transcription or identical pagination. Check the output before using it in teaching, publication, performance, or other work.

MusicXML (including compressed .mxl), MIDI, MP3, printable PDF, and a ZIP bundle are offered where available for your conversion. MP3 is synthesized practice audio, not a recording of musicians. Audio export supports scores up to 60 minutes. Your result shows which files are available.

3.Your music & copyright

You retain your rights in your uploads. You authorize us and the providers working for us to store, reproduce, process, and convert your files only to provide the service, deliver your results, resolve support requests, and meet legal obligations. This permission does not allow us to sell your music, publish it to other users, or use it to train models.

Upload only material you own or are legally entitled to process. Buying sheet music does not necessarily give you permission to reproduce, arrange, distribute, or publish it. Conversion does not create those permissions or remove existing copyright. You may use your downloads personally or commercially to the extent the rights in the source material allow.

We retain rights in our website and software; third-party software and trademarks remain subject to their owners’ rights. If you believe the service is being used to infringe your rights, contact us with the work involved, the relevant reference, your contact details, and the basis of your request.

4.Accounts & guest purchases

One-time purchases can be made as a guest. Subscriptions require an account. Provide accurate account and billing information, protect your login, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.

Guest access relies on the browser session used for the upload and purchase. Keep that browser session and your order reference until you have downloaded your files. Clearing cookies or changing devices may prevent automatic access. Contact us with your order details if you need help; we must verify ownership before restoring access, and cannot recover files that have already been deleted.

5.Pricing & payment

Prices are in US dollars. Pay as you go costs $0.50 per source page, with a $3 minimum for each order. A source page is counted once, regardless of how many formats you download or how the converted score is laid out. One purchase unlocks the available formats for that score.

The amount shown at checkout is the amount you authorize. Any applicable taxes are shown before payment. Your bank may apply its own currency conversion or transaction fees. We use Stripe to process payments. Test or sandbox checkout, when clearly labeled, does not purchase a live paid service.

Audio transcription downloads cost $0.99 per started minute of uploaded audio, with a $1.99 minimum per recording. Audio is billed separately and does not use sheet-page allowances. All available export formats are included.

The pricing page describes our current plans. Its usage calculator provides an estimate, not an invoice. Per-upload minimums and the number of uploads can affect actual pay-as-you-go spending. A failed conversion cannot be purchased and does not consume subscription pages.

6.Subscriptions, renewals & cancellation

Our monthly plans are:

  • Musician: $9 per month for 50 source pages.
  • Studio: $19 per month for 150 source pages.
  • Professional: $99 per month for 1,000 source pages.

Subscriptions renew and charge automatically each month until canceled. Unused pages expire at the end of each billing period and never roll over. A successful renewal provides a new allowance. Page allowances have no cash value and cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.

Cancel renewal in your billing portal before the next renewal date to stop future charges. Cancellation keeps the current paid period available until it ends; it does not automatically refund that period. To change plans, cancel renewal and choose a new plan after the current subscription ends. Deleting a browser session or stopping use does not cancel a subscription.

Active subscribers can approve additional pages at $0.50 each, without the pay-as-you-go order minimum. We show the extra charge before purchase; there are no automatic overage charges. Payment failure may pause paid access until resolved.

If we change your recurring price or materially reduce your plan, we will notify you before the affected renewal and give you the opportunity to cancel. Changes do not retroactively alter a completed purchase.

7.Downloads & file availability

Uploads and previews normally expire 24 hours after upload. Starting checkout can extend that window; unlocking a score provides 24 hours of download access from confirmation. Subscribing alone does not unlock a score: use your available pages to unlock it. The result or order page shows availability.

Download and keep your files before access expires. This is a conversion service, not permanent file storage. Expired files are removed through scheduled cleanup. Processing or unresolved payment activity can delay deletion, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Repeated downloads within the available period do not charge you again.

8.Refunds & purchase problems

Please inspect the free preview before buying. Except where the law requires otherwise, completed digital purchases and elapsed subscription periods are non-refundable for a change of mind. Unused monthly pages are not refunded or carried forward.

Contact us if you were charged twice, paid but could not access the promised files, received unusable files because of a service fault, or believe a charge was unauthorized. Include your order reference and explain the issue. We will investigate and, as appropriate, restore access, correct the problem, or refund the affected charge. Requests concerning an unused purchase or renewal are considered individually.

Your mandatory consumer rights remain in place. Nothing here removes a refund, withdrawal, cancellation, or other remedy that applicable law requires. Any legally required consent to immediate digital delivery must be obtained separately; these Terms alone do not waive a withdrawal right.

9.Responsible use

Do not upload unlawful or infringing material, malicious files, or information you are not authorized to provide. Do not interfere with the service, access another person’s files, evade payment or usage limits, share access to bypass plan limits, or run automated traffic that disrupts the service.

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, fraud, security risks, non-payment, or a material breach of these Terms. Where practical, we will explain the issue and allow it to be resolved. We may act immediately where required to protect users or comply with law.

10.Availability & responsibility

We work to keep conversion and downloads available, but processing time varies with queue size and score complexity. Maintenance, outages, and third-party services may affect availability. We do not promise uninterrupted service or compatibility with every notation application. Keep a separate copy of your originals.

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available, without additional warranties of error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. This does not exclude warranties or service standards that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or missed performances. Our total liability arising from the service is limited to the greater of CAD $100 or the amount you paid us for this service during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11.Applicable law & changes

Ontario law and applicable Canadian federal law govern these Terms. Disputes may be brought in the courts in Ottawa, Ontario, subject to any mandatory right you have to use local courts or local consumer protections. These Terms do not require arbitration or waive rights that cannot be waived.

We may update these Terms as the service or law changes. We will publish a new effective date and provide additional notice of material changes as appropriate or legally required. If a change requires consent, we will request it. The terms applicable when you purchase govern that purchase; revised terms apply prospectively.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply. These Terms and the purchase details shown at checkout form the agreement for this service. Provisions concerning accrued payment obligations, intellectual property, liability, and dispute resolution continue where relevant after use ends.
